Top Albums of 2012

treeswingers2012

It’s over and we’re still here. Mayan prophecies be damned, we survived the last year and are now only hours away from 2013. So what better time to reflect on the last 12 months of music?

If 2011 was diverse, 2012 was schizophrenic. Our album selections–with each contributor listing their top releases of the year in no particular order–lacked any sort of cohesion or theme. Folk, hip hop, T. Swift.  There were familiar faces–Tame Impala’s sophomore return and Beach House’s fourth effort were popular among us–while only three chose to exclude the stellar debut of Frank Ocean. Feel free to add your own list in the comments section.

Here’s t0 2013.

  1. Where is Two Door Cinema Club on this list!? I hope it would have been in the just missed category.
